Admissions to in-person undergraduate courses are determined by two annual vestibular tests, which offer almost 4,000 places among all university courses. Additionally, UEM also provides the Program of Serial Evaluation (Programa de Avaliação Seriada – PAS), targeted to high school students who are interested in studying at the University.
Some affirmative actions taken by UEM help democratize the access to the Institution, such as the reservation of places destined for indigenous students, black students, and students in a situation of social vulnerability. The University also devotes resources to distance-learning courses and offers courses to seniors through the Open University to Senior Citizens (Universidade Aberta à Terceira Idade – UNATI).
