The visit is part of an international project that proposes sustainable actions in Amazonian territories, with support from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq)
The International Cooperation Office (Escritório de Cooperação Internacional - ECI) of the State University of Maringá (Universidade Estadual de Maringá - UEM) welcomed Brazilian professor Vanessa Iceri from the Centre d’Innovations Sociales Clermont Auvergne, and French professor Nicolas Duracka, from the Université Paul Valéry de Montpellier, both institutions located in France.
The researchers are at UEM on visiting professor grants, supported by the College of Applied Social Sciences (Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas - CSA), and were accompanied by faculty members Sandra Schiavi, José Paulo Souza, and Simone Galerani Mossini.
The visit is part of the activities of the project “Innovation and sustainable transition: basket of goods and services in Amazonian territories,” linked to the Amazon +10 Initiative. The proposal is coordinated by professors Monique Medeiros, from the Federal University of Pará (Universidade Federal do Pará - UFPA), Itaan de Jesus Santos, from the State University of Maranhão (Universidade Estadual do Maranhão - UEMA), Ademir Cazella, from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina - UFSC), and Sandra Schiavi (UEM). It aims to develop a theoretical and methodological framework focused on sustainable territorial development, based on the concept of the Basket of Territorial Goods and Services (Conceito de Cesta de Bens e Serviços Territoriais - CBST).
Based on this approach, the project seeks to co-create strategies and actions to promote sustainable transitions in Amazonian territories, taking into account regional specificities and local knowledge. The initiative is funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPq) and the research support foundations FAPESPA (from Pará), FAPEMA (from Maranhão), FAPESC (from Santa Catarina), and Fundação Araucária (from Paraná).
