Professional Master’s Program
The Pharmaceutical Assistance Graduate Program (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Assistência Farmacêutica – ProFar) was created in 2017 with the intention of reducing the distance between the training of professionals and the challenges faced by both the training bodies (education policies) and the service providers (health policies). We understand that the basic principles that should be part of education are the constant updating, integration and interaction to new perspectives, which enable professionals to know the new profile demanded by both contemporary society and the Brazilian Unified Health System (Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS). This program embraces disciplines that aim at building knowledge on Pharmaceutical Care, covering all its stages from planning to monitoring the use of medicines, in addition to consolidating the pharmacological bases of the practice of Pharmaceutical Care, which enables the development of communication skills and information analysis for a better pharmacotherapeutic follow-up. The professional trained by this program will be able to instrumentalize, update, and promote better access to quality medicines, with efficiency and safety based on their appropriate dispensing so as to achieve collective and public health and improvement of the service provided to the population. They will also be able to set appointments and provide pharmaceutical care services.
