Master’s Program and Doctoral Program
The Biosciences and Physiopathology Graduate Program (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Biociências e Fisiopatologia - PBF) is intended to train qualified personnel for higher education, research activities and professional practice. The program consists of a cycle of systematic and regular studies as well as research activities which lead to the achievement of the academic degree of master’s and/or doctor’s. Its main purpose is to train masters, PhDs and researchers in Biosciences and Physiopathology, thus enabling them to carry out scientific research that serves the demand of education institutions, academic outreach and other health agencies. This program promotes an environment for discussion and understanding about diseases and their effects on human beings, developing critical thinking for the improvement and adaptation of new discoveries in the health field. The master’s and doctoral program were structured to cater to professionals of the Health and Biological Sciences, such as pharmacists, biomedical scientists, nurses, doctors, veterinarians, biologists and others. The program received score 5 by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – CAPES).
